The Potential Negative Health Implications of Refined Sugar

We’ve all heard that we should avoid and limit refined sugars in our diets but a lot of us may not fully know the reasons why.  If you’re interested in knowing why you should be limiting your sugar intake then this blog post is for you.  Foods with a high glycemic index, such as processed sugar and sweets, cause your blood sugar and insulin levels to spike.  This spike can lead to inflammation in the body.  It can also lead to an increase in your androgen secretion, which has potential negative implications on your hormones and your skin.

Refined sugars have been shown to potentially increase an individuals’ risk of developing type 2 diabetes, obesity, cancer, and heart disease.  Refined sugars have also been linked to a potential higher likelihood of depression, dementia and liver disease.

We have all been led to believe that anything that tastes sweet and delicious must contain refined sugar. But I know that most of you have noticed how lethargic and foggy you may feel after eating a dessert filled with sugar, or drinking a cup of coffee that is loaded with sugar.  

Thankfully, we have been able to bring LOYAL into the world and there is now a better way to enjoy all of our favorite foods and beverages.  We are thrilled that we can now all enjoy our favorite staples and treats while not having to consume any sugar or harmful artificial sweeteners.
